Dear Angels out
there
We need your
prayers ..
Yolanda (15 years)
is in a critical condition in Livingstone Hospital with meningitis.
Asanathi (he turns 6 today) and Daniel (9 years) is in this hospital
here. 7 other children are sick and isolated in one of the our
houses. Everyone else (including the staff and myself) is in
quarantine. We have been given prophylactics by the Dept. of Health and will be
in quarantine until Saturday. Please pray for all the children and
Yolanda in particular. I am going to try and get Yolanda brought
back home. If she is going to die then she must be with us who love
her and not in some strange hospital. Pray that this becomes possible. If the government
were giving us anti-retrovirals, this would not have happened. As
human nature unfortunately is, it is easier to criticize than
appreciate what is being done. There is talk by the Dept of Health
of closing us down becausen we have too many diseases and we are over-crowded. Have these people
lost sight of the fact that my children are HIV positive? And that
they would most likely be dead by now?
.. and we need
baby formulae for
some babies in the township. The welfare has no formulae, the dept
of health has no formulae (too busy trying to close us down than to
ensure that the babies don't die of hunger) - and there are no jobs
to earn money to buy the formulae. The Dept. of Health have run out
of formulae and they cannot get any more until the new quarter when they will be
issued from Bisho. I am struggling to keep our own 60 full time
children fed every day plus the 100 extra children per day from the
old township and cannot afford to purchase baby formulae for these
starving babies. Can you please help? If you are able to help, please can you drop the milk off with
Stuart at Powertek Services, cnr. Quick and Leyland Streets, North
End or send it to 18 Smid Street, Middelburg, Cape 5900.
......winter is
on it's way
... if there are
any knitters amongst you - please can you knit some red beanies for
the children? And 24 v-neck closed green jerseys to fit age 10 - 12,
fourteen navy v-neck jerseys for 3 - 5 year olds and 35 maroon
jerseys to fit age 13 - 15 years?
...... and
volunteers .... Please!!! Call me if you want to come and live
with us and help us for a while.
Thank you for
caring. Love Dianne and the children
